On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Peace, Tolerance, and Sustainable Development Council Forum kicked off in Alexandria, bringing together a distinguished group of community, cultural, and media figures, along with representatives from various institutions, in an atmosphere reflecting cooperation and a shared commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and human coexistence.
The forum began with the Egyptian national anthem, followed by a speech from Counselor Dr. Mahmoud Shaaban Hassan, President of the Peace, Tolerance, and Sustainable Development Council, who emphasized that sustainable development is the path toward a better future for humanity, and that peace is achieved through dedication and effective action that serves people and communities.
Dr. Mahmoud Shaaban explained that the council is an international humanitarian organization that advocates for dialogue, women’s empowerment, and youth engagement, noting that every member represents a message of peace and a responsibility to spread goodness and understanding among nations.
The forum also witnessed the official appointment of Peace Ambassadors and the distribution of roles and responsibilities within Egypt and abroad, as part of a comprehensive vision to advance the council’s objectives and strengthen cooperation for sustainable development.
Sessions addressed key topics such as environmental sustainability, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and youth empowerment, and also recalled the glorious October Victory as a symbol of determination, perseverance, and faith in peace built through strength and effort.
At the conclusion of the forum, the official designations of Peace Ambassadors were presented amid a celebratory atmosphere of optimism and commitment, reaffirming that true peace begins within the individual and that responsible media plays a vital role in spreading the values of tolerance and sustainable development.
